Bollywood celebrities are often associated with glamour and stardom, sometimes to the detriment of their personal accomplishments. Yet some of the biggest stars in India have earned degrees from prestigious business schools. Here are five Bollywood celebrities you might not know had a graduate business degree.
Kay Kay Menon holds an MBA from the Department of Management Sciences at the University of Pune. Randeep Hooda holds a master’s degree in business management and human resource management. John Abraham holds an MBA degree from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies Mumbai. Fardeen Khan holds an MBA degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. And Mallika Sarabhai holds an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
Ross School announces $200M fundraising goal, $8.5M in gifts
“The Stephen M. Ross School of Business is launching a new fundraising initiative called Foundations for Success, with the goal of raising $200 million to increase access to its top-ranked business programs and support students at the school,” according to reports from the Ross School.
“The initiative aims to boost the business school’s ability to recruit exceptional students through scholarships and provide funding for educational and experiential opportunities at the Ross School and beyond.
“The school also is announcing three new gifts totaling $8.5 million.
“One of the new gifts to the initiative was for $2.5 million from Ross School Advisory Board member and alumnus Bill Stein to create the Stein Scholarship Cohort Fund. The fund will provide scholarships and programming for Ross students with a demonstrated financial need in the Bachelor of Business Administration Program.”
ETS expands presence in India
Nonprofit ETS has announced the formation of ETS India, officially establishing an office in the country to grow the organization’s global footprint as it seeks to continue serving learners as part of their lifelong educational journeys. Lejo Sam Oommen, formerly of Pearson, will lead ETS India as managing director. In this role, Oommen will develop and implement ETS’s overall growth strategy for its products and services in India.
ETS has long been committed to the Indian education community and establishing the ETS India office is a natural next step in supporting learners – both in-country and globally – as well as higher education institutions as they continue to attract diverse graduate students. The formation of ETS India will continue to strengthen the organization’s relationships with key partners in-country, providing both ETS and Indian businesses increased opportunities for collaboration and investment, including in and with schools, institutions, corporations, education agents, language trainers and study abroad advisors.

Coller School of Management at Tel Aviv University launches online MBA
“Israel’s Council for Higher Education has approved the Tel Aviv Online MBA program at the Coller School of Management at Tel Aviv University,” according to a report in Jewish News Syndicate. “This is the first time the Council has approved an entirely online degree taught by a research university, with no requirements for on campus presence.
“All the residential MBA programs at the Coller School of Management are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), placing it among the top 9{3e92bdb61ecc35f2999ee2a63f1e687c788772421b16b0136989bbb6b4e89b73} of business schools worldwide, and the Coller School is the first business school in Israel to be awarded Eduniversal’s 5 Palmes of Excellence. The Online MBA program will allow the Coller School to continue positioning itself in the international scene, targeting outstanding international students from all over the world and competing with online programs offered by other leading universities worldwide.
